MANCHESTER UNITED AND CHELSEA TARGET FAILS TO TURN UP FOR MEDICAL TESTS AS MEGA TRANSFER EDGES CLOSER

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is in the headlines once again as he failed to turn up to his medical tests with the Serie A club this morning. This has thrown his future up in the air once again as Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid all remain interested in signing the Serbian star, who could cost over £100m.
The 23-year-old was due back in the Italian capital today after his extended World Cup holiday allowance came to an end just weeks before the start of the new season. Chelsea are thought to be at the front of the queue, with several ingoings and outgoings expected at Stamford Bridge under new boss Maurizio Sarri.
The Chelsea gaffer knows the Serbian well from his in Serie A, where the midfielder has been one of the most influential players over the past two seasons. The Lazio star could fetch £130m but he would be worth every penny with his mix of size and strength coupled with an extreme amount of class with the ball at his feet. Many believe the former Genk star is on his way to becoming one of the best midfielders in the world and it is hard to argue with that assessment.
The lack of Champions League football could be the one thing stopping the player joining Chelsea, which hands the advantage over to Manchester United and Real Madrid. United may struggle to find the funds to bring in the 6 foot 4’ central midfielder as Jose Mourinho continues to complain about his club’s lack of spending this summer.
All of this still puts Lazio in the driving seat, with them able to ask for a huge fee for Milinkovic-Savic’s services.
